Greenbrier Middle School had a Relay for Life team last year, but this year decided to not only be a little more involved, but to add a bit of creativity to their fundraising. As a result, they came up with the idea of taping assistant principal Jeff Wright to a wall with duct tape that the students purchased.
Staff participant, Vivian Weaver said that students are enthusiastic about their participation.
“It is a wonderful cause and we are proud to be a part of it,” she said. “We wanted to do something different, so taping Mr. Wright to the wall we thought would be something the kids could get excited about. We raised $258.00 by doing so and the kids loved it.”
Weaver added, “We were blessed to have some great parent volunteers along with the faculty and staff that jumped in to help. GMS will have a booth at the countywide Relay (Friday, May 12) selling balloons and much more.”
