Scott Woodall has been named as the new assistant principal for Greenbrier Middle School, filling the spot of his outgoing predecessor, Jeff Wright.

Woodall, a Robertson County resident, comes to the district from Metro Nashville Public Schools where he served for a total of 13 years.  His previous experience also includes six years of service in the educational publication industry.  His most recent position was as Dean of Students with Metro Nashville Schools.

Graduating in 1997 from Middle Tennessee State University, Woodall earned an undergraduate degree in Health and Physical Education.  In 2015, he received a Masters of Educational Leadership from Union University in Hendersonville.

Woodall said his move to the district was not a difficult one.

“One of the reasons I made the decision to move from Metro to Robertson County was that I wanted to be a part of the educational leadership in the county I live in,” he said.  “I wanted to be part of the educational growth and success of our students here.”

Woodall said he divides his non-working time primarily between the sports activities of his son and daughter.  As members of a sports-oriented family, the two siblings both play travel ball which, according to Woodall, keeps them all on the road a good bit of the summer.  His son is also a member of the Greenbrier High School baseball team.

Free time, when it occurs, is spent outdoors hiking and camping, according to Woodall, although he said that his children’s sports schedules don’t currently allow for much of that.
