BEHAVIOR POLICY
In keeping with the fact that the Library Media Center (LMC) is a
place of instruction dedicated to research and the acquisition of
knowledge, and to ensure that coming to the library is an enjoyable
experience, the following guidelines have been established.
- Respect
- Students will show respect for other library users.
- Students will show respect for library property and materials. Use
proper book care procedures. Do not damage library property and take
responsibility when accidents happen.
- Students will show respect library staff and helpers.
- Patience
- Students should be patient with library procedures and wait patiently for assistance.
Please place books and materials on the book cart when you have finished using them.
CIRCULATION POLICY
1. Books
– Circulating materials will be checked out for two weeks at a time.
They may be renewed if no one else has placed them on reserve.
2. Reference Books --
The majority of reference books will not circulate. Under certain
conditions they may circulate overnight only. These conditions include:
a. teacher request,
b. all of the circulating copies of the same or similar titles are checked out or on reserve,
c. this is only source available on a given topic,
d. at the discretion of the librarian.
Encyclopedias will not be checked out. In the event that the library
has two edition of the same encyclopedia, the older edition will become
a circulating copy
3. DVD’s –Teachers may check out DVD’s for classroom use only, however they may be taken home overnight to preview.
4. Computer Printouts – ASK BEFORE YOU PRINT! As of October 2011 we do not charge for printouts, but that will be re-evaluated if students abuse the privilege.
5. SUSPENSION OF PRIVILEGES – Students with outstanding fines will not be able to check out
materials from the library until effort has been show to reduce said
fines. Each case is reviewed individually by the librarian and students
must come to the library to discuss it with the librarian.
