For this project Mr. Kellar's students will use this 3D printer for a school wide competition to design and create an item that would be useful for students in Greenbrier Middle School (such as a pencil holder, desk organizer, etc.). Each team will consist of five students. Their mission will be to present their vision to the "Barracuda Tank" - a panel of STEM teachers.
The top three teams that get an investment from the Barracuda Tank will bring their vision to life by making their item and marketing it to other students.
With the help of the public Mr. Kellar was able to purchase a 3D printer and extra filament for the printer. This is a great way to foster entrepreneurship in our middle school, as well as connect their learning to the real world.
Mr. Kellar's hope is that this competition will spark interest in careers related to the STEM field.
